Jelome was born with a severe cleft lip and palate. At six months old he was assessed by the plastic and reconstructive surgery and ENT teams at Port Moresby General Hospital, but his condition was too complex to operate on locally.
In April 2025 he was identified during a clinical outreach and referred to CTC Inc. Working with Children First Foundation (CFF), we coordinated his assessments, passports, visas and every arrangement for overseas treatment.
On 18 January 2026, Jelome and his mother travelled to Adelaide, where he had successful reconstructive surgery. When they came home, family members were waiting at Jacksons International Airport. Today his smile is a symbol of what compassionate partnerships can achieve.
